Nødebo brand guidelines

The mark, the colours, and how the name is written. Everything on this page is free to use when referring to Nødebo — in an integration directory, a partner page, a conference listing or a press article.

The mark

The mark is a ø — the Danish slashed o, after Nødebo, the village north of Copenhagen — set in a rounded tile. Read as a diagram it is also what the product does: a boundary with a single line crossing it. One way in, one way out, through one door. The identity is monochrome by design: the mark is Nordic Night and white, never the product colours.

Mark — light background

Mark — light background

The default. Nordic Night tile, white glyph — for white and Nordic Ice grounds.

Mark — dark background

Mark — dark background

Reversed: white tile, Nordic Night glyph. For dark grounds and photography.

Mark — mono

Mark — mono

The ø alone, no tile, in currentColor. Must be inlined — through an <img> tag it renders black.

Logo

Mark and wordmark, side by side. The wordmark is drawn as outlines rather than live text, so it renders identically everywhere and needs no font installed. Prefer the mark on its own wherever the name already appears in writing beside it.

Horizontal lockup. The wordmark is outlined, so it needs no font installed.

The same lockup reversed out for dark grounds.

Clear space and size

Clear space

Keep free space around the mark of at least the tile’s own corner radius — about a fifth of its width — on every side. Nothing else sits inside that.

Minimum size

20 px for the mark on screen, 6 mm in print. Below that the slash and the circle merge and the ø stops reading. Use the mark alone at small sizes — never the full lockup.

Colour

Danish by origin. Royal Copenhagen Blue carries the interface — links, buttons, emphasis — and Dannebrog Red is the accent, spent in one place at a time. The Nordic neutrals do the rest. Note themark itself uses none of them: it is Nordic Night and white, so it sits on any ground without competing.

The name

Written for people, it is Nødebo, with the ø. Written for machines it is nodebo, plain — domains, package names, identifiers, and anything a person might have to type or a system might have to match.

Nødebo

Prose, headlines, slides, the wordmark, spoken introductions. Capital N, lower-case ø.

nodebo

nodebo.com · nodebo_invoke · @nodebo · nodeboinc

Never NODEBO in running text, never Nodebø, and never an o with an acute or a slash drawn by hand — if the ø is not available, use the plain form.

Typography

Inter sets everything — self-hosted, weights 400 to 800. The wordmark is Inter ExtraBold at −0.04em tracking, and in the files above it is outlined, so nothing depends on the font being installed. Headlines are semibold with tight tracking; body text is regular. Figures use tabular numerals wherever they line up in a column.

Please don’t

  • Recolour the mark. It is monochrome on purpose — use the light, dark or mono file as supplied.
  • Stretch, rotate, or rebuild it from a screenshot.
  • Put the light-background mark on a dark ground, or the reverse — the whole reason both files exist.
  • Set the wordmark in live text. Use the outlined logo, or write the name as prose beside the mark.
  • Place the mark on a busy photograph without a solid tile behind it.
  • Imply partnership, endorsement or certification by using the mark.
